To celebrate the success of the Big Pedal competition, Sustrans are holding a day pack full of cycling fun!

10 Swindon schools joined over 1000 others across the UK to promote cycling and scooting to school during the 'Big Pedal' competition recently.
The more pupils, staff and adult supporters who cycled or scooted to school during the three weeks, the faster the school moved round a virtual course of Britain.
To celebrate Swindon's success & contribution to the campaign, Sustrans are holding a Big Pedal Party to congratulate the schools that took part.
On the day there will be:
- Mountain bike skills demo

Design and take part in an obstacle course – a group competition which gives you the chance to see your own design come to life.

Bike jigsaw and sculpture making with parts donated from the Recycles bike shop.

The Swindon Travel Choices team will be loaning us their Smoothie maker so you can choose your fruit and create your own smoothie by pedal power
-
Pedal Powered People will be there showing off their monster maker – design a monster and then watch them inflate and come to life by your own pedalling

Bubble maker – all children love bubbles, but these are on a big pedal powered scale

And much, much more!

There will also be travel experts from Sustrans on-hand to offer free personalised travel information for the whole family, to help getting around Swindon simpler.
And as an added bonus, participants will get a free cycle computer, cycle lights or pedometer each worth £10!
The event is being kindly hosted by Oakhurst Primary School from 10:30am and will be open to Sustrans Bike It schools who have taken part in the competition.
